Hospiscare Heroes – From Easter trails to face masks

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been as busy as ever, finding innovative ways to fund raise for our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

Three young girls holding white lists

We are sending a huge thank you to local supporter Charlotte Bright of Pop Goes the Weasel Studio for organising the Eggsmouth Easter Trail with our fundraiser, Lucy Hancock. Over 300 children took part in the trail over the Easter holidays, raising a fantastic £423.40 for our local charity.

Thank you to Callands Budgens and their staff on Exmouth Seafront who sold map bags and helped to promote the trail in the community. Thank you also to Tesco in Exmouth, Co-op on Exeter Road and Co-op Brixington for their donations of chocolate eggs and treats. The trail would not have been possible without the support of these local businesses.

We are also sending our thanks to Lin Stapleton in Crediton for making and selling facemasks to raise money for Hospiscare. Lin has been making and selling masks since March 2020 and has raised an amazing £2,034! We are so grateful for all of Lin’s efforts and her amazing fundraising total.

Three country gardens

We are so grateful to the gardeners at Little Ash Farm Bungalow (top left), Prospect House (top right) and Southwood Farm (centre) for making us feel so welcome when our fundraisers visited this week. These gardens will be opening in July and all of the details about visiting can be found here.

We would like to thank Paul Stanbrook once again for his continued fundraising efforts for Hospiscare. Paul recently held a fourth quiz with 100 questions in total, 10 from every decade. Paul’s latest quiz has raised an amazing £215 for our local charity.

Finally, we would like to thank Dunsford Stores who have raised £70.83 from their collecting tin and a further £73.02 from selling masks.

We love hearing your stories about how your are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
