Hospiscare Heroes – From donations to bake sales

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their super powers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

Janice Haynes (Ladies Captain), Lee Scott (Club Captain), and the members of Tiverton Golf Club held a variety of fundraising events throughout 2022, including raffles, coffee mornings and sponsored challenges. Their efforts raised an incredible total of £16,324.37 for Hospiscare – we cannot thank you enough for this incredible achievement!

We would like to say a big thank you to Jack Mattock and the team at The Original Factory Shop for holding another fundraising event in aid of Hospiscare. This time they held a charity bake sale at their Lace Walk store in Honiton, raising a fantastic £183!

Thank you to everyone who baked delicious treats and supported the event.

Thank you to Thornes Farm Shop who are smashing their 40 Club target with a range of fundraising events so far in 2023, including running the Grand Canal Canter Half Marathon recently – starting at Tiverton Canal Basin and following the picturesque Grand Western Canal.

Thank you so much for your continued support, Thornes Farm Shop.

Hospiscare Hero Sarah, also completed the Grand Canal Canter Half Marathon and has raised £260.00 for Hospiscare so far!

Sarah completed the half marathon in just 2 hours and 6 minutes, and we couldn’t be more grateful to her for going the distance for Hospiscare. Thank you, Sarah!

We recently received a £500 donation from Crediton Dairy, after staff selected four local charities that are making a positive impact within the community. We are so grateful to everyone at Crediton Dairy for choosing to donate to Hospiscare.

And finally, we would like to thank Sue from Exe Nordic Walking who is taking on the challenge of a lifetime in 2024 – the Machu Picchu Trek for Hospiscare. Sue’s fundraising efforts are now underway and she has been busy arranging a Silent Disco at Quayside Distillery in Exeter next month. All proceeds from the event will help Sue achieve her Machu Picchu fundraising target. If you would like to show your support, you can make a donation here.

Thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.
