Hospiscare Heroes – From open gardens to festivals

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their superpowers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

First up, we want to thank Combe Estate for holding an Open Garden event in aid of Hospiscare in May, the weather was perfect for enjoying a stroll around the beautiful gardens and a delicious slice of cake. A big thank you to everyone involved for raising an amazing £1366!

We also want to thank Jamie Skinner and everyone involved in organising Cookie Jam, an annual BMX festival in Exeter in aid of Hospiscare. This year’s event raised an incredible £4,485 – we are so grateful for your ongoing support!

Thank you to Honiton residents Christine Thompson and Wendy Chaffey for organising a delicious afternoon tea event earlier this month, selling their homemade crafts and books. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all and raised an incredible £235 – thank you!

Finally, we want to thank La La Choirs for their wonderful performance at our very first Summer Walk. Not only did they provide entertainment for our walkers, but they also joined in the walk themselves. As a result of their ongoing support, they have raised over £19,500 for our local charity – an incredible amount. We are so thankful!

Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.

We love hearing your stories about how you are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
