Hospiscare Heroes – From human football tables to Open Gardens

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been as busy as ever, finding innovative ways to fund raise for our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

A group of people on a makeshift football pitch

We are sending a huge thank you to the fantastically unusual human football table fundraiser, held at Jewson’s yard in Honiton. Thank you to Ben Welch, Nathan Hannay, Arron Griffiths, Barry Hawkins and special thanks to Katie and Tom Churchward for lending their bouncy castle to the event! Thanks also to Porkies The Family Butchers for supplying the BBQ food and to Duncan Sheridan-Shaw from Tesco for donating all of the burger buns. Great fun was had by all involved.

A white thatched cottage and country garden

We are sending a huge thank you to Miranda and Roger Oliver and their family for opening their beautiful garden at White Cottage in Crediton for Hospiscare last weekend. The weather was beautiful, as was the garden and the refreshments provided. Thank you to everyone who supported the event, helping to raise an amazing £2,002.

Two women holding a big cheque outside a toy shop

Finally, thank you to Jade Oliver Deacon and her team at The Toy Shop in Okehampton for donating the proceeds from several items sold last Christmas to support the care of our patients. Jade handed over a cheque for a fantastic £1,275.22. Thank you to everyone who bought items in support of Hospiscare.

We love hearing your stories about how your are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
