Hospiscare Heroes – From classic tractors to awesome abseilers!

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their superpowers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

Firstly, we would like to show our appreciation to the Hospiscare Heroes who helped organise, participate in and attend the Classic Tractor Working Weekend held on the 23 and 24 September in Salcombe Regis, Sidmouth. Thank you to Richard Start who organised this amazing event and those who supported with raffles, stalls and collections on both days. We are so grateful to all the steam engine enthusiasts who participated and attended and to the Knight family for their kind permissions for the event to take place here.

It was a wonderful weekend and showcased some fascinating forms of classic transport. An outstanding £1293.51 was raised at the event. These contributions help Hospiscare in continuing to provide specialist care to those facing life-limiting illness locally.

September has been a great month in community fundraising with the Coffee Morning campaign in full swing. It has been great to see your baking talents come to life throughout September. Thank you to everyone who came together to hold a Coffee Morning for Hospiscare.

On Saturday 16 September Chloe Wilson and Jane Booth (pictured above) held their Coffee Morning at Longdown Village Social Club raising an amazing £835.20! Thank you to Chloe and Jane and all who attended, donated or went along on the day. It is so great to see communities put such time, effort and generosity into these mornings! We are so thankful!

Finally, we would like to highlight an individual Dartmoor Drop hero! Liz Westlake, from Okehampton Friends of Hospiscare, dared the abseil last month and raised a phenomenal £700! Thank you Liz and everyone who took part, fundraised and donated.

Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.
