Our Hospiscare Coffee Morning Heroes of 2023!

Our Hospiscare Coffee Morning Heroes of 2023

This week, we are celebrating a very special group of Hospiscare Heroes. This week’s blog is dedicated to everyone who took part in and supported our Coffee Morning campaign for 2023.

To all of the bakers and makers to those behind the scenes helping to organise venues, tables, chairs, raffle prizes and more, we are sending our most grateful thanks to our Coffee Morning Heroes of 2023!

Staff and students at Honiton Community College got their baking hats on!

Throughout September, Hospiscare, the local hospice charity, invited people to host a Coffee Morning in return for a donation to support specialist end-of-life care across the heart of Devon. It was amazing to see so many of you bring out your inner baker for our cause!

This glorious display adorned the shop floor at The Original Factory Shop in Honiton!

An amazing 90 supporters and businesses came together in a variety of ways, raising approximately £19,000 and counting. This phenomenal fundraising will have a huge impact on local patients and their families living with a terminal illness.

This year’s campaign could not have taken place without the fantastic support of Moshulu, who sponsored Coffee Morning 2023. We would like to say a huge thank you!

Cameron Jones Financial Management had a wonderful time at their Coffee Morning enjoying both bakes and bowls in Budleigh Salterton!

Joanna Baines, Client Relationship Manager, at Cameron Jones Financial Management explained their involvement:

“As a local business, we were very happy to support Hospiscare. Members of our team have personally experienced the amazing services that Hospiscare provide at an incredibly difficult and emotive time for them and their families, seeing firsthand how hard and tirelessly the charity work. We love that we have been able to include our wonderful clients at our fundraising events – not only raising awareness of the services that Hospiscare provides but bringing together like-minded people to support a fabulous local charity, win-win! We will continue to help fundraise and already have some exciting ideas!”

Bovey Tracey Primary School had this scrummy spread of playground offerings!

The hospice supports close to 2,000 patients and their families every year across Exeter, Mid and East Devon living with terminal illness, and need to raise around £10 million a year to continue providing this support. With just 18% of the charity’s income funded by the NHS, events like Hospiscare’s annual Coffee Morning campaign are vital to the survival of the local charity.

We even got involved with a staff ‘Searle House Bake Off’ where we put our own skills to the test!

From all of us here at Hospiscare, we are sending out our most grateful thanks to each and every one of you. We would not be here, supporting families when they need it most, without you.

Now you’ve hung up your apron, washed the dishes and thanked everyone for coming along, if you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to pay in what you’ve raised. Visit our donate page and follow the simple steps to pay in your donations.
