LiveWest’s charity partnership leads to ‘Virtual Bake Off’

Partnerships make a huge difference to charities and local businesses. We caught up with the team at LiveWest to find out what they've been up to.

Strong ties with our local business community are essential for the future of our charity. We are fortunate to have been chosen as charity partners by several local businesses, including LiveWest.

LiveWest is a housing association with homes across the South West. The business owns and manages over 38,000 homes from Cornwall to Gloucestershire and has ambitious plans to invest more than £1 billion in the South West economy.

LiveWest has supported Hospiscare alongside their other charity partners over the past year. Briony Plester, People Adviser for LiveWest, explains, “Hospiscare does such invaluable work supporting the communities we live and work in and we are pleased to have supported them, especially during the challenging times that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought us.

“We recently completed a Virtual Bake Off at LiveWest which saw many amazing entries and was a great way for our team to get creative and support Hospiscare at the same time. We look forward to continuing to support Hospiscare in the future.”

Support from local businesses like LiveWest have been invaluable to our local charity, particularly over the past year where COVID-19 had a drastic impact on our fundraising events and activities. Sarah Smith, our Head of Public Fundraising, says, “Charity of the Year partnerships with businesses like LiveWest have been so very important to Hospiscare through this difficult year.

“Whilst fundraising activities have had to be adapted, I have been blown away by the determination and creativity of our partners to continue to support our local charity. LiveWest’s Virtual Bake Off has been a great success and a brilliant example of how remote fundraising can still be fun and bring the team together.
