Hospiscare Heroes – From treks to yarn bombing

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their superpowers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

To start, we want to send a big thank you to Mike Hull who has just set off on his 630 mile South West Coast Path trek. The trek will take 37 days to complete and will involve camping each night, carrying everything he needs in his backpack. Thanks Mike, for putting your best foot forward for Hospiscare, we wish you the best of luck!

We will be following Mike’s journey over on Facebook, if you would like to keep an eye on his journey, click here. To read more about the challenge and show your support, take a look at his JustGiving page.

Thank you to Whimple W.I for organising a coffee morning in their local village hall recently, raising a fantastic £300 for Hospiscare – we are so grateful for your support and to everyone who attended, donated or went along on the day.

We also want to thank La La Choirs member, Kate, who took to the skies last weekend and completed her skydive for Hospiscare. Kate said “I enjoyed the peace and stunning views across Devon once the parachute had been released!”. Thank you for braving this challenge and supporting our local charity. If you would like to help make a difference and donate to Kate’s fundraising, click here.

And finally, a big thank you to The Mail Trail who have been busy creating incredible themed postbox toppers to spread joy in Exmouth and raise money for our local charity. The yarn bomb trail officially launches today, offering the perfect summer holiday activity – if you’d like to follow the trail and find all 43 toppers, head to their website to find out more. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to craft these amazing toppers and to this year’s Mail Trail sponsor, Stuart Line Cruises.

Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.
