Hospiscare Heroes – From ‘Galentine’s’ gatherings to wonderful wassails!

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their superpowers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

Firstly, we would like to send our appreciation to Exeter Friends of Hospiscare who held a wonderful Galentine’s Sparkling Afternoon Tea event on Saturday 10 February. It was held at the Coaver Club, Exeter, who support Hospiscare as their charity of the year. There was also accompanying music from jazz trio, soWhat! It was an opportunity to celebrate female friendships and for anyone wanting to treat the special ‘gals’ in their lives. 85 great ‘gals’ were in attendance and the event was a huge success raising over £2000 for Hospiscare! Thank you so much to everyone who supported, organised and attended this special event of appreciation and love.

Next, we would like to pay thanks to Derek and family who celebrated his 90th birthday in style. On February 9, at Cheriton Bishop Hall, the family held a party for Derek in aid of Hospiscare. It was a wonderful success and they raised an incredible £500.

We are so astounded for the generosity of supporters in the local community. It is so lovely to see family coming together to celebrate and do such a good deed for others. Thank you to all involved!

Finally, we would like to thank Ian, Toni, David and Edward Hall and friends for their amazing donation of £551.18. The money was raised from the Fleeds Farm Wassail event held at Fleeds Farm, Clayhanger on 3 February. It was an opportunity to wassail the fruit trees with music, celebrations and a BBQ. Music was provided by The Big Noise Street Band.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who braved the mud to join the traditions and to the family for organising this wonderful event!

We are so incredibly lucky to have the support of our local community, your dedication and generosity will help Hospiscare provide specialist care in the local area. As a local charity, with limited funding we are reliant on donations and gifts in wills to fund services. Thank you so much for your support from everyone at Hospiscare, our patients, their families and staff who care for them.

Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.

We love hearing your stories about how you are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
