Hospiscare Heroes – From Christmas trees to yarnbombing

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their super powers to support our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

A large decorated Christmas tree

Thank you to Bowhayes Trees of Venn Ottery for kindly donating this beautiful Christmas tree for the Christmas Tree Festival at Ottery St Mary Parish Church. Thank you to the Magpies ladies, Steve Pearcy and all of those who helped with the organisation and decoration of the tree. We are also sending a special thank you to Melvin for making the log reindeers and Chris Swindle who went above and beyond to make the Father Christmas and sleigh decorations.

Crocheted mail box topper with an octopus

We would like to say thank you again to everyone involved in The Mail Trail in Exmouth. Your fantastic efforts, from making the charming toppers to sponsoring the post boxes, from selling maps to walking the trail, raised a phenomenal £5,039.90! Keep your eyes on the post boxes in Exmouth – the Mail Trail team are hoping to run a summer holiday trail with even more post boxes to track down and admire!

Christmas trees in an outside lot

Finally, thank you to Connetts Farm at Dunkeswell for kindly donating six Christmas trees to Searle House. These will be placed in our garden so that our patients and their family members can enjoy them.

We love hearing your stories about how your are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
