Hospiscare Heroes – From baking fundraisers to beer donations

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been as busy as ever, finding innovative ways to fund raise for our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

Two cans of Hanlons Citra IPA

We are sending a huge thank you to Hanlons Brewery, an award-winning local brewery situated in Newton St Cyres, for their donation of 100 cans of their Citra IPA. Hanlons have kindly donated the beers for 100 Father’s Day hampers that are being made by the Exeter Friends of Hospiscare.

After the success of the Exeter Friends’ Valentine’s cream teas and Mother’s Day hampers, they are putting together a special hamper for dads that will now include a can of this zesty local IPA.

A plate with slices of iced cake fanning out in a circle

Thank you also to to Jodie from Bake a Cake for organising a delicious-looking online fundraiser for our local charity.

A woman and two teenagers holding an Easter basket

We are sending a huge thank you to Dawn Enticott, Billy, Charlotte and Emily for organising Honiton’s Great Easter Egg Hunt. Thank you also to all of the local shops who are taking part.

Two handmade hessian bunny bags

Thank you also to Rachel Amos who kindly made and donated these two adorable Easter bunny bags for prizes in Honiton’s Great Easter Egg Hunt.

A scarecrow of Miss Piggy sitting on a chair

Finally, thank you to Helen Laws and Jess Startin for organising the hugely popular Countess Wear Scarecrow Trail over the February half term. Lots of families enjoyed the trail, despite the sometimes wet weather! The Scarecrow Trail raised an incredible £1,070.17! We are sending a huge thank you to the organisers, the amazing scarecrow creators and to everyone who followed the trail and made a donation to our charity.
