Hospiscare Festive Fundraising Heroes

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been busy over the festive period, finding innovative ways to raise funds for our local charity

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

This week, we are sending out a special thank you to all of the amazing people and businesses that supported us in December with some festive fundraising. Together, our fantastic Hospiscare Festive Fundraising Heroes raised over £11,000 for our patients and their families. Read on for just some of the highlights of their fundraising endeavours.

Thank you to Rebecca and the team at Thorne’s Farm Shop for their wonderful prizes and fundraising. Rebecca and the team raised an amazing £231.83!

Thank you to Dawn Enticott and her family for organising a Christmas family event in Honiton: a Winter Wonderland Walk. Families in the community purchased an activity pack for a donation to Hospiscare. Inside the packs were colouring sheets and a map of all of the houses taking part in Honiton. There were also numerous gold ticket prizes inside the packs for children to win. Thank you also to all of the shops who supported Hospiscare by selling the activity packs.

We are very grateful to Beth and Andrea from Coldharbour Farm Shop for raising over £250 from their Christmas Raffle.

We are sending a huge thank you to the staff and children of Exeter School for holding a Christmas jumper day at the end of their winter term. They raised a fantastic total of £267.43.

Thank you to 14 year-old Milly Oakins who, with the help of her mum Kim, held a ‘Festive Prize Draw’. Milly obtained all of her prizes from local businesses in Exmouth and raised £177!

Thank you also to Joy Davis who runs her own pottery business, Potty Joy, and held her own prize draw with local fitness group ‘The Tri-Hards’. Joy raised £162 through the prize draw of her ‘Potty Mermaids’.

Thank you to McCarthy & Stone’s Tumbling Weir Court in Ottery St Mary for holding a Christmas Raffle. Thank you to Sales Consultant Arian and House Manager Moya who raised £50. The winners, Mr and Mrs Dean, were presented with the festive hamper just in time for Christmas. The contents of the hamper were kindly donated by Tesco in Axminster.

Thank you to Amanda Hockings Cooke and her mum, Linda, for holding a ‘Festive Prize Draw and Handmade Craft Sale’. They raised a fantastic £410.65!

Thank you to Tesco in Exmouth for holding a festive prize draw and collection that raised £136.21. Thank you to their wonderful Community Champion, Leanne Fletcher, for all of her help and support.

Thank you to Lorraine Addicott who raffled a number of fabulous prizes in aid of Hospiscare and raised a phenomenal £1,300!

Thank you to Exe Valley Christmas Trees for supporting Hospiscare by collecting money for us during November and December whilst selling their trees.

Thank you to Carla Bancroft for putting together this lovely Christmas hamper and raffling it to raise funds for Hospiscare. Carla raised an amazing £217.

Thank you also to Pixton Christmas Trees for supporting Hospiscare by collecting money for us during November and December whilst selling their trees.

Thank you also to Christine Thompson and Wendy Chaffey, both from Honiton, for making adults’ and children’s Christmas face masks, as well as dog coats and other knitted items. Between them they raised over £200!

Thank you to Parkside Garage in Exeter whose staff wore Christmas jumpers for a week to fundraise for Hospiscare. They raised an amazing total of £100 for our local charity.

A huge thank you to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital‘s x-ray department who collected prizes and created a range of male and female hampers and goodie bags. They raffled these off and raised a brilliant £224!

Thank you to Rolle Medical Practice in Exmouth for their staff festive prize draw which raised £109.50.

We are sending our thanks to Heard and Sendell Ltd in Tiverton who raised £253!

Thank you to Laura Saunders of LauryLee in Ottery St Mary for raising an impressive £225 with her online Christmas Raffle.

Thank you also to Amy Thomas from Ottery for organising a Body Shop raffle and raising £100.

Thank you to Hometor Residents Association for holding a festive prize draw with the residents of Hometor House. They raised £108.

Thank you also to the Orchard Court Residents Association for their lovely festivities, which raised £110 for our local charity.

Thank you to Samantha Durkin from Heathpark Tyres in Honiton who held an online Christmas Raffle and raised £100.

Thank you to Jan Caudrelier for her socially distanced Christmas wreath making workshop, held in her back garden, which raised £110.

Thank you to Lorna and Alistair Handyside who kindly gave a £250 donation on behalf of Association to Support Carers.

Thank you also to Natural Beauty by Bev in Honiton for organising a Christmas Tree in memory fundraiser where stars were dedicated to loved ones. Bev raised £92.75. Bev also signed her salon up to take part in our Christmas Raffle, along with The Rabbit Hole Barbers in Axminster, No 22 Hair Boutique and House of Hair (both in Honiton) but were unable to take part due to their businesses closing.

Finally, thank you to Howdens in Okehampton, Mercedes-Benz in Exeter and Ernest Jackson, all of whom donated money to Hospiscare over Christmas.
