Support at home

If it is necessary for you to be assessed at home, our nursing team will come to you to provide expert support and personalised specialist advice.

The Hospiscare Community Clinical Nurse Specialists are highly qualified and experienced nurses. 

They lead the Hospiscare community nursing teams based near you and provide a phone or visiting service every day of the year.

Hospiscare also provides an overnight ‘phone advice line’ service accessed via the ward at Searle House, Exeter.

Your Community Nurse Specialist will give you the telephone number to call for your local service.  Examples of services are:

Sidmouth area

People registered with a Sidmouth GP also have access to Hospiscare phone advice or an overnight visit if necessary for your treatment and care.




Seaton & Axminster Hospiscare@Home service

People registered with a Seaton or Axminster GP also have access to hospice trained nurses who provide 24 hour bedside nursing at the end of life in your own home.

Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Lympstone and Woodbury Hospiscare@Home

This new service launched in June 2017.  It is an extension of the Clinical Nurse Specialist service already provided in the area and offers hands-on nursing care when required, any time, day or night, supporting adult patients with life-limiting illness who wish to remain at home at the end of their lives.
