Here are four supporters that share a surname, but have very different reasons for leaving a legacy to Hospiscare.
Mrs Smith made an in-memory donation in 2003 after her husband died in our care. She then placed dedications in our Book of Memories for a couple of Christmases. Though we didn’t hear from her for many years after that, she remembered Hospiscare and made a gift in her Will which was recently received.
Mr Smith made his Will through our Will Fortnight scheme. He has now died and a recent notification from his solicitor told us he left a legacy to Hospiscare in his Will alongside three other charities.
Mr Smith first decided to leave a gift to Hospiscare in his Will after signing up as a volunteer driver. He went on to amend his Will and left a considerably larger amount after having experienced care as a patient himself.
Mrs Smith played our lottery for several years before her daughter, as her executor, sent Hospiscare a cheque, which was the gift Mrs Smith had left Hospiscare in her Will.
You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a lasting effect with a gift in your Will.
Whatever you can afford, you can make a difference.
