Participants to this course will be able to:
• Identify the clinical indications for using a syringe pump
• Be able to identify the drugs and dose ranges commonly used in a syringe pump
• Be able to discuss the general principles when caring and supporting a patient and their carers when a syringe pump is in use
• Be able to recognise common problems which may arise when a syringe pump is in use
• Be able to identify professional accountability and responsibility when caring for a patient when a syringe drive is in use
