A record-breaking year for Hospiscare Open Gardens

A record-breaking year for Hospiscare Open Gardens

Throughout the summer, 40 gardeners took part in our annual Hospiscare Open Gardens campaign; opening their gates and welcoming members of the community to explore their beautiful green spaces in return for a donation. We’re thrilled to share that thanks to the support of our community, this has been a record-breaking year – raising £51,716.44 and counting to support specialist end-of-life care across the heart of Devon.

Introducing our new pop-up charity shop in Exeter

We’re excited to share that we have opened a brand-new, pop-up charity shop in Exeter City Centre, stocking a range of pre-loved clothing, unique décor and much more. The shop is located on Sidwell Street, opposite John Lewis, who kindly partnered with us providing a team of staff to help with preparations ahead of opening – we are so grateful for their time and support!

Two decades of fundraising!

Two decades of fundraising!

Meet our fundraising volunteer, Steve Pearcy. Steve is one of our longstanding volunteers. He started fundraising for us 19 years ago. He explains, “My wife was brought into the hospice for two weeks at the end of her life. Our children were only two and four at the time. She was given a private room so I could take the children to see her right up until the end. I will never be able to repay Hospiscare for what they did for us.”
