We are sending a huge thank you to George Hill who held a week-long art auction to raise money for us during this difficult time. Thank you to George for organising this fantastic virutal event and to all of the local artists who donated their work, as well as all of the people who made bids on the items! The event has raised an amazing £2,540!
Thank you also to Lotte Early (pictured above), Rachel Willmott and Lorraine Dolley from the East Devon Community Team who wanted to do something to support Hospiscare after the closure of our charity shops and cancellation of our events due to COVID-19.
Lotte, Rachel and Lorraine have developed the Three Peak Isolation Challenge; starting on 6 April, they have four weeks to complete their challenge.
Lotte will be climbing Scafell Pike, a total of 6,180 steps or 412 flights of stairs. Lorraine will be tackling Mount Snowdon, a total of 7,120 steps or 475 flights of stairs. Rachel will have the most difficult challenge: climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis; a total of 8,810 steps or 587 flights of stairs.
This amazing challenge for Hospiscare has raised over £1,000 including Gift Aid so far. You can support Lotte, Rachel and Lorraine here.
We are sending a massive thank you to Kelly Preece who has made a second batch of headbands to protect our nurses' and doctors' ears when they are wearing masks. These will prevent a lot of sore ears and they are very stylish too!
Finally, thank you to RX-Info who asked their staff to nominate a charity close to their hearts. We are extremely grateful for the £500 donation that we have received.
We love seeing all that you do for Hospiscare, so if you are planning any fundraising, please send us a direct message us on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can celebrate your efforts. We couldn't do what we do without you.
