Thank you to our lovely supporter Jemma Price from Topsham who has been helping us to collect some amazing prices for our upcoming events. These prizes include a rugby ball signed by the Exeter Chiefs.
A huge thank you to Allie Rowland, Magalie Barrett, Teressa Walton, Harriet Pugh, Graham Right and Zain Hussain who raised a phenomenal £2210 by taking on the Three Peaks challenge.
Thank you also to The Ten Tors Inn who raised an amazing £1307.81, as well as much-needed awareness, for Hospiscare with their evening featuring The King himself.
A huge thank you to our lovely volunteers Sue House and Paula Lawford and our amazing Exeter Friends of Hospiscare who are working hard organising the 3rd MAP Ride which takes place on the 6th October. The MAP Ride is organised in memory of family and friends who have died in the care of Hospiscare over the last few years. The ride consists of a 30 and 50 mile cycling route around Exeter Mid and East Devon, raising funds for local people living with a terminal illness. If you would like to sign up or know someone who would, you can register here. There is even tea, cake and bacon baps at the half way point!
A big thank you to Chagford Support Group and friends whose last coffee morning on 20th July was another big success. There was a steady flow of supporters enjoying good coffee with plenty of cakes, plants, books and bric-a-brac to buy. The amount raised that morning was £665 which was brilliant.
Added to that amount, Diana Brown raised money by having a stall at the Flea Market, Liz Goodwin sold items outside her house and a very generous person handed in a cheque for £150.
The total raised was £934. Many thanks to all who contributed so generously to our charity.
Another effective money-raising scheme has been the ‘spare change’ boxes which have added £138.71 to date this year. These boxes can be picked up at Hospiscare Coffee Mornings and used to offload small change from purses and wallets. It is surprising how small amounts add up to this considerable amount, so please pick up a box to take home next time.
Thank you also to Gwyn Chard, one of Hospiscare’s most steadfast supporters. Her little shop in the Drang has sold books, toys and puzzles for years and she has used the proceeds to contribute towards not only this charity but others such as Devon Air Ambulance. Gwyn has sold her house and has moved to Lamb Park therefore her shop will no longer exist. She is unstinting with her time and her efforts to raise money for charities such as ours. Many thanks Gwyn - you are a star!
We love seeing all that you do for Hospiscare, so if you are planning any fundraising, please direct message us on Facebook or email email@example.com so that we can celebrate your efforts. We couldn't do what we do without you.
