The Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards recognise innovation and excellence in the not-for-profit care and support sector. Local charity Hospiscare were delighted to be recognised by the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards in December 2018, when they won an accolade for end of life care for their Hospiscare@Home service.

In the last couple of years, Hospiscare@Home has reached 326 people, enabling patients to remain and die at home surrounded by their memories, belongings and loved ones. The Hospiscare@Home nursing team help remove fear of the unfamiliar and anxieties over the future, replacing them with security, peace and expertise, helping families cope at the most difficult of times.
Hospiscare Assistant Director of Care (Community) Ann Rhys commented:
