Hospiscare Heroes - Snow Angels and Fantastic Fundraisers

Francis Clarke

A huge thank you this week goes to PKF Francis Clark, who raised £8,797.92 during 2017 from their charity of the year support. Check out this photo of their team that completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in July, raising £2,000 in the process!

Jeanette and her mum

Thanks to Jeanette Pearson, who challenged herself to a Dry January and raised over £800 for Hospiscare. Jeanette’s mum is a patient in our day services and Jeanette wanted to do something to support them, to provide craft and other activities for patients.

East Devon Tractor Club

A big thank you also goes to The East Devon Tractor, Machinery and Engine Club, who selected Hospiscare as their chosen charity of the year and raised £250 by holding events throughout 2017.

Donated photo

Huge thanks to Hazel at Vivian Gallery in Dawlish who kindly donated this lovely photo (above) for our concert at Exeter Cathedral in May with Isca Ensemble. For more information about the concert, contact

Searle House in the Snow

And finally, a big shout out and thank you from the Senior Management Team to everyone who went over and above in the snow!

  • All those nurse and doctors who stayed overnight in the IPU, and changed shifts or worked extra
  • The cooks, cleaners nurse and doctors who walked into Searle house through the drifts
  • Nurses in the community who went to different bases and walked where they could
  • Our Hopsiscare@Home teams who cared for patients at home during this period
  • Staff and volunteers who walked to shops and the warehouse to make it safe and keep it going while we could
  • The House Clearance team who did some work in such poor weather
  • Husbands and volunteers with 4x4s who helped us keep moving
  • Estates colleagues who came in early to clear the snow
  • Our Comms teams who helped keep the communication channels open during the weekend and the snow filled days …

And of course to everyone else who went over and above to keep our services going!

We love seeing all that you do for Hospiscare so, if you are planning on doing any fundraising, please direct message us on Facebook or email so that we can recognise your efforts. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
