Hospiscare Heroes - Festive Fun!

In the run up to Christmas, lots of individuals and businesses have been pulling out the all the stops to support Hospiscare. Read on to find out all about our Hospiscare Heroes this week!

Barry Frost and Steve Conabeer from Acanthus

A huge thank you goes to Barry Frost for organising his 'cheeky' Christmas card in aid of Hospiscare.  They raised a fantastic £796 in total. Thanks also to Acanthus Press for producing the card.

Barry's Christmas Card

Thanks to Ernest Jackson who auctioned 40 items at their annual staff auction, and raised a phenomenal £1,396.

A huge thank you also goes to St Bridget Nurseries, Exeter, Otter Nurseries and Old Well Garden Centre, Uffculme, who have between them donated over 100 cyclamen for Hospiscare Day Care patients to have for Christmas.  Some of our nurses have been to the nurseries to collect the cyclamen which will be wrapped up and given to patients to take home. We're hugely grateful for the generous support of these local businesses, spreading a little Christmas cheer for local people and their families.

A big thank you also to Glen King PR for donating £100 to Hospiscare in memory of Nick Agg-Manning (former Trustee) instead of sending Christmas cards this year.

And thanks also to BCR Associates who bought all their Christmas cards from our shops to send to their clients.

Exe Valley Christmas Trees helped make a festive hospice

Thanks to Exe Valley Christmas Trees, who donated a tree to stand at the entrance of Searle House.

A huge thank you also goes to Great Western Railway for providing the carriage of seats for the Hospiscare Christmas Train trip, helping to raise over £2,100.

Also a big thank you to Le-Roy Funerals who donated 4 Exeter Chiefs Goldcard tickets for us to use.

Drinks Reception at Wilkinson Grant

Many thanks to Wilkinson Grant for kindly letting us hold our Christmas drinks reception at their city centre office last week, and thanks for being such great hosts!

Corporate Reception at Wilkinson Grant

And finally, a big thank you to Marks & Spencer in Exeter who not only donated a big Christmas hamper, but also let our choir to sing in-store last weekend to raise money.

We love seeing all that you do for Hospiscare so, if you are planning on doing any fundraising, please direct message us on Facebook or email so that we can recognise your efforts. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
