From Hospiscare: A Jolly Big Thank You For A Jolly Good Jaunt!

Jolly Good Jaunt Walkers

Hospiscare would like to take this opportunity to formally thank everyone who took part in this year’s Jolly Good Jaunt on Sunday 29th October. The end result was not only 'jolly good' but a rip-roaring, resounding triumphant success! Thanks to everyone: walkers, sponsors, volunteers and entertainers alike.

Particular thanks go out to The Deer Park Country House Hotel for again providing the picturesque venue. Thank yous aplenty also go to Denhay, Tesco Honiton, Tesco Axminster and Hog Roast South West for their invaluable assistance in both providing and preparing refreshments.

We are also grateful to the seventy or so hardworking volunteers, who included the team of marshals from Otter Valley Rotary Group, the Honiton Roundtable and the Hospiscare Honiton Support Group.

Also, thanks for the assorted entertainment and music provided by Jaime Gill, The Moonshine Serenaders, Rupert Ballantyne and Clive the Storyteller.

Last but certainly not least, we offer our heartfelt thanks to the Jolly Good Jaunters themselves who donned their tweeds, collected sponsorship and who together made this such a fantastic and memorable day. Thank to you all. We could not have done it without you.

Nathan Hannay, who took part in the Jaunt and set up an online fundraising page, said he took part in the event “to remember his father-in-law Tony and show support to Hospiscare who helped the whole family through a difficult time in their lives”. Nathan set himself a target of £100 and has raised an impressive £250 online.

With much of the sponsorship money still be collected, it is anticipated that £15,000 will be raised to support the patients and their families within the local community.

If you took part in the Jolly Good Jaunt you can hand your sponsorship money in to any of the Hospiscare shops or Day Hospices, or call 01392 688020 to ask about other paying in options.
