A jolly good morning was had by all our jaunters and nature trailers who joined us at the Deer Park Country House Hotel on Sunday. Well done to everyone who took to their heels and enjoyed the Autumn sunshine within the beautiful surroundings of the East Devon countryside.
Many thanks goes out to The Deer Park Country House Hotel for once again providing the stunning venue and refreshments, to the team at Hog Roast South West for giving their time in cooking and serving the pork, which was kindly donated by Denhay. Thanks also to Thomaz from Coffee-Bike.com. Tesco Honiton also gave great support by not only donating the bread rolls for the hog roast, but entering a team and raising a fantastic £500! Much appreciation also goes to Tesco in Axminster who donated the walkers’ water.
We are also grateful to the 70+ amazing volunteers who gave their time to enable this event to take place. They included a team of marshals from Otter Valley Rotary Group, the Honiton Roundtable who swept the route collecting the signage and the Honiton Fundraising Support Group who ran the raffle.
The walkers and nature trailers were entertained by accordion player Jaime Gill, The Moonshine Serenaders jug band, Rupert Ballantynes with his frog racing (not real ones!) and Clive PiG the storyteller.
Special thanks also go to our volunteer photographers Shaun and Mike, who once again produced some amazing images.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the day and either made a personal donation or raised sponsorship. The cash is being counted and a total will be announced at the end of the month.
For those currently collecting sponsorship, you can pay this into any of our shops, Kings House Day Centre or you can send us a cheque made payable to 'Hospiscare', to Hospiscare, Searle House, Dryden Road, Exeter, EX2 5JJ.
