Applicants must be able to manage a patient caseload, provide holistic care, offer expert advice and intervention, and liaise effectively with local GPs and Community Nurses in order to contribute to the 24 hour, seven day per week cover.
To apply, you will need to demonstrate substantial experience of working within a palliative care/end of life environment and detailed understanding of the complexities of working with individuals at times of distress and conflict. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and developed IT skills, are essential to be successful in the role, as is the ability to work as part of a team, prioritise workload and manage time effectively. Some previous experience of the community setting and of facilitating clinical supervision would be beneficial. In addition, although you would usually be covering limited locations, the ability to work and travel throughout the entire Hospiscare area, participating in the seven day service provision, is crucial.
