Virtually Twilight

4th Jul 2020, 18:00 - 21:30

Introducing, Virtually Twilight. The Twilight Walk revamped for 2020.

In April we took the decision to cancel this year’s Twilight Walk due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After careful consideration, we decided to create an event that captures the essence of Twilight Walk and is safe for all participants. And so we are super excited to bring you Virtually Twilight this July!

We’re asking Twilighters to walk a distance and route of your choice (maintaining social distancing) on Saturday 4th July to raise vital funds for Hospiscare. Join us online at 6pm for a virtual welcome and warm up before you start your walk. We encourage you to wear pink or a previous Twilight t-shirt as well as your Memory Star on your back and complete a walk that is a safe challenge for you. We know many of you will be used to taking part in large groups and therefore we suggest Skyping and Facetiming your friends and family as you walk or when you return home. Be sure to take some selfies, too – we’d love to see them!

When you return from your walk, join us online for a Moment of Reflection as we light candles in memory of loved ones. This will be followed by an upbeat music performance so you can celebrate your walk and fundraising success with a glass of fizz (or whatever you have in the fridge!) in the comfort of your own home.

If you’d rather not walk or are unable to join us on the 4th July, you can still take part by making and sharing a Memory Star and joining us for the Moment of Reflection, where we will be lighting candles in memory of loved ones. You could also walk in the week building up to the event and, if you’re unable to watch the broadcast live - no worries we’ve got that covered too! The broadcast will be available to view on demand after the event on the Twilight Walk Facebook page.
