About us

About us

Hospiscare is the hospice charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

As an independent local charity, Hospiscare has been supporting people in Devon living with life-limiting illnesses for over 40 years. We’ve expanded our area over that time and now cover over 1,000 square miles of our county including Exeter, East and Mid Devon and North Dartmoor. If you’ve been diagnosed with any type of terminal illness, our expert doctors and nurses are here to help. Our services include support at home, a specialist palliative care ward, out-patients clinics, and supportive therapies.

We support over 2,000 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible. With 18% of our funding coming from the NHS, we need to raise around £10 million a year to continue to provide our care, relying on the generous support of local people and communities.

Over 600 volunteers and our regular donors and supporters help us to care for people when they’re most in need, no matter what their individual circumstances may be.

We’re proud that our care is rated as ‘five star’ by patients and families across Devon and as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Our supporter promise

At Hospiscare, we want you to feel that supporting us is a positive, worthwhile and rewarding experience.  Many thousands of people throughout Exeter, Mid and East Devon depend on our care and support and, quite simply, we couldn’t be there for them without the generosity of people like you.

We promise to respect any personal data that you share with us or allow other organisations to give to us.
