Support at home
The majority of our patients are cared for at home. Our Community Clinical Nurse Specialists are highly qualified and experienced nurses who provide a seven-day per week service from 8.30–5.00pm, plus an overnight advice line across the whole Hospiscare area.

Specialist care
Hospiscare Community Nurses provide pain and symptom control, psychological, emotional and spiritual support to patients, carers and families in their own home. They also provide social and bereavement support where necessary.
The Nurses can spend time to listen and talk with patients and families about their illness, treatment and the future in order to enable and empower them to make informed decisions.
Everything you need
Hospiscare nurses work in local teams, with ten satellite offices situated across the whole Hospiscare area. The Nurses work with GPs, District Nursing Teams, Devon Doctors, Community Hospitals, Social Services and many other agencies in order that the best care, access to services and equipment may be provided for patients and families.
Working alongside the team are trained volunteers who provide a befriending and sitting service, transport for appointments, complementary therapies, carer and bereavement support.
Should a patient need support from a day centre or our in-patient unit, our nurses can facilitate that process.
Can I have Hospiscare support at home?
If you think you may benefit from a referral to Hospiscare, please speak to your GP, district nurse or other healthcare professional. If you do not live in Hospiscare’s area, then there will be another hospice service appropriate for you.
