For an incredible 500 men have so far registered for Hospiscare’s men-only walk later this month.

The Exeter-based charity has been inundated with registration requests but time is running out for anyone planning to take part in the event, which begins and finishes at Sandy Park, the home of the Chiefs.

Hospiscare fundraiser Tracey Skinner said: “The Women’s Midnight Walks have been running for a few years now and are extremely popular but this is the first time we have organised a men-only event.

“We were hoping it would be popular but the response so far has already exceeded all of our expectations and we are extremely grateful to all those who have signed up.”

Those who complete the 10k walk will be treated to a free pint, pastie and also get to enjoy the England v Ireland Six Nations game on the big screen.

Registration for the walk, which is sponsored by South West Communications, is still open and full details are available by phoning 01392 688020 or at www.menswalk.co.uk

Any males aged 12 or over are eligible to take part for the event on 17th March, which is being billed as the pefect boys’ day out.

All of the money raised will be used to support patients and their families across Exeter, mid and east Devon.

The walk is the first key fundraiser for Hospiscare in its special 30th anniversary year.
