Hospiscare 2012 - our 30th anniversary
Celebrating our past…fundraising for our future
Thirty years ago Hospiscare was launched with just one nurse and a big dream… to provide expert care and support to patients and their families, free of charge.
Now as we celebrate three busy decades of successful expansion, Hospiscare is launching a very special year to both celebrate our past… and fundraise for our future.
That is why 2012 promises to be a particularly busy and exciting anniversary year for all our supporters. So many individuals and groups help make a difference, whether by putting on an event, making a donation or by thinking to the future by leaving a gift to us in their will. Major events this year will include our popular Women’s Walks in both Tiverton and Exmouth as well as a new Men’s Walk in March and a Sky Diving challenge in September.
There is an anniversary fashion show planned for the spring, featuring outfits from the past 30 years, sourced from our wonderful charity shops.
Monday 25th June will see an anniversary service of celebration and thanksgiving in Exeter Cathedral, followed in July by our ever-popular golf tournament.
"Hospiscare’s story is one of real determination to make a difference," says the charity’s Chief Executive Glynis Atherton. "We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all those who have helped to guide our charity through the past three decades. But with more than £4 million to raise each and every year, we need now to ask for continued support so we can all look forward to a future providing local families with the expert care and support they so desperately need."
