Dreaming of summer already

Appeal for new gardens to open in 2012

The joys of an English summer may seem a long way away but with its thirtieth anniversary year approaching, local charity Hospiscare is already eagerly seeking gardens for its 2012 Open Gardens season.

The spring and summer of 2011 saw an impressive range of gardens open to the general public. The season attracted around 4,000 visitors and raised £20,000 for the charity. Hospiscare which looks after people with terminal illness throughout Exeter, east and mid Devon is particularly excited about the next season as 2012 is a special year for the charity.

“Last year’s Open Gardens Season was a tremendous success,” says Hospiscare Fundraiser Jen Waldron. “To celebrate Hospiscare’s 30th year in 2012 we hope to make the Open Gardens programme a bigger success than ever before. We would love as many people as possible to get involved and open their gardens for Hospiscare!”
