Meet Martyn Lewis evening for Hospiscare

Some fascinating insights into the world of TV news were provided by celebrated broadcaster Martyn Lewis during a special evening at Exeter University on 17th June. The evening was held to raise funds for local charity Hospiscare.

The veteran newsreader Martyn Lewis gave an entertaining talk and answered questions on his long career working for both ITN and BBC television news.

Compere for the event was former Spotlight presenter Teresa Driscoll who now works with the local charity. “The last time I worked with Martyn he was handing to me from a studio in London,” said Teresa.

Martyn Lewis covered a wide range of big stories during his long career including reporting on the death of Princess Diana in 1997. The evening included many insightful anecdotes about his early years getting into the industry and on broadcasting through the decades.
