Appeal for volunteer gardeners

Can you help with Pine Lodge grounds?

Local charity Hospiscare is appealing for volunteer gardeners to help plant and maintain the grounds of its new Pine Lodge centre in Tiverton.

Anyone interested is invited to an open meeting at 3pm on Thursday August 25th at the centre in Post Hill when Michael Hickson, the former head gardener for the Knightshayes Garden Trust, will explain his vision for the special garden.

Pine Lodge was recently opened after a local campaign raised £250,000 for its conversion. The multi-functional centre now offers patients day care facilities including complementary therapies and a range of activities.

The two-acre site, enjoying wonderful views, is to be developed as a striking but low maintenance garden to be enjoyed by patients including a sensory area with specially-selected scented plants.

Anyone who can spare time to help develop and maintain the garden is welcome to attend on Thursday 25th when refreshments will be provided. More information is available by calling 01392 688068.
