1 Hospiscare is licensed by the Gambling Commission under the 2005 gambling act.
2 All members must be aged 16 or over (it is an offence for anyone under the age of 16 to participate in a Weekly Draw).Hospiscare Lottery has a statutory duty to verify that members are at least 16 years old. By becoming a member you agree to us carrying out any checks that are deemed appropriate to verify this requirement, including if necessary seeking confirmation from relevant agencies that can provide such information. Should a prize winner be found to be under the age of 16 we will refund their money and withhold the prize.
3. All members must reside in the UK.
4. On joining the Lottery you will receive from the Lottery office a unique randomly selected membership number. To encourage sensible gambling, Hospiscare reserves the right to restrict how many numbers a person or syndicate may hold.
5. Participation to the Hospiscare Lottery draw costs a £1 per entry per week. Payment may be made by cheque, standing order or cash. All subscriptions received are payable in advance and will be entered in to the weekly draw using their unique number. The draw takes place every Friday.
6. Hospiscare will confirm membership on receipt of application.
7. A list of the winning numbers is available from Hospiscare, Dryden Road, from any of our shops and on our website.
8. Hospiscare promises to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and to protect your personal data and not misuse it. (Hospiscare’s Data Protection Policy is available upon request).
9. Hospiscare reserves the right to alter the prize structure at any time by giving three months notice.
10. Winning cheques will be automatically sent within 5 working days of the draw.
11. Cancellation of a member’s payment is the player’s responsibility, standing order payments have to be stopped via your bank. Any credit or payment received after the member has notified Hospiscare Lottery will be refunded on request.
12. Hospiscare reserves the right to cancel membership where no draw has been entered into for 8 or more consecutive weeks. It is the responsibility of the player to advise Hospiscare Lottery of any change of address or any other membership details deemed necessary.
13. Hospiscare is a member of the Hospice Lotteries Association (HLA) which on behalf of its members makes a financial contribution towards the Great Foundation - an organisation set up with the sole aim of promoting responsible gambling.
14. Members wishing to self-exclude can do so by contacting the Lottery Office, but will not be able to rejoin the lottery for a period of 6 months from the date of self-exclusion.
15. Any complaints or disputes will be dealt with in accordance with Hospiscare’s current policies and procedures - a copy of which would be made available on request at such time. In the event that a complaint or dispute cannot be resolved by these means, then it will be referred to arbitration. As a member of the Hospice Lotteries Association, this will be conducted by The Independent Betting Adjudication Service Ltd. (IBAS).
16. Hospiscare reserves the right to stop the Lottery by giving all registered members one months notice.
17. Hospiscare reserves the right to delay the Friday draw if it falls on a public holiday, or if the draw mechanism is not accessible. The draw would take place as soon as practical thereafter.
18. Hospiscare cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or delay of any payment or communication sent by post, direct from a bank or building society, fax or email.
19. Hospiscare takes no responsibility if your membership is cancelled in error.
