This half day introduction to ACP is offered to staff who need to understand the basic principles of ACP and how they will be supporting patients and families in their decisions about care.
Events will include:
- Understanding the process of advanced care planning process
- Awareness and understanding ofInformed consent, legal status and ethical implications to include the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Communicating sensitively and effectively with patients, families and other professionals and teams
- Establishing and assessing wishes and preferences
